The importance in this area of the course is to grab the attention of your targeted consumer’s or visitor’s attention and satisfy their “needs and wants”. The objectives help you plan and design for visitors who might be working under the most common technological constraints.  Not having the exact information about the visitors that will browse your site with their various browsers, the speed of their equipment, or the types of screen resolutions; can have traumatic affects to the viewer’s accessibility and usability.  That’s why it is vital to maintain consistency with navigation throughout the complete website.

An outstanding website contains page layout, text, graphic designs and accessibility considerations that have faster load times.  Utilizing repeating aspects of one or more elements ties the site together. There should be interesting and attention getting differences in contrast from your background color and the text.  Similar items should be placed in a close proximity of each other.  Organization of the elements on the page should be placed in some type of alignment either vertically or horizontally.  These simply guidelines will improve your website immensely.

If a view has a perceived load time they may be less likely to exit your site.  Having a table of contents or bulleted list on either a short or long page will correlate information to the viewer after it has loaded.  This is the site map for quick scanning that most visitors do.  The more browser-friendly your site is, the more your site will tend to attract and expand your targeted audience.  http://www.w3.org/ can serve as a reference with its vast formality for common applications in creating a website.  Avoid any Web Design elements that will make it more difficult for the visitor to find pertinent information or a purchase in three clicks.

Always consider the viewers response to your website pages while creating them.
